Caping knife in action

The new Caping knife , has been in action for a while now . Working through the species list . Capes done but no capes kept its not my thing personally ( and i haven't got the wall space for that ). But i am very happy how it handles those thick skinned muntjac and it is actually proving itself to be a very good Roe Knife .

How long have you developing/making this knife for please @Bowland blades ?
Not 100% sure because i normally mess around with variants for some considerable period of time . Its basically a take on what might well be the love child of "the Roe" and the " muntjac " and just a bit of itself . With a fair amount of input from a very highly regarded American Knife maker who sent me some knife patterns of the Scoop concept and the "bulb" shaped handles.
Very quick and easy to make the Caping knife and currently i am offering them at just under the £100 in SF100 and the " off the grinder " fine grit finish that many makers seem to like over full mirror polish blades. I still prefer full polish personally but it does eat up a lot more time to create over " off the grinder finishing"

That's a very reasonable RRP Chris, I think they will be popular. Second buck in second week of use for my roe knife.....

Being honest there is a large difference in time using " off the grinder finish " As many makers do as the norm instead of the mirror polishing by hand ( my normal standard finish wise ).
its smaller so less materials required size etc , etc . Thinking of putting out a limited number run of them with high grade vacuum resin fancy stabilized wood etc , full polish and leather sheaths etc but the price could / should be at least double ( still cheap at that mind for hand made ). Its a fabulous little knife though from my results testing . Mate is doing some big Reds with it at present ( government stuff ) . I have done a few Muntjac and Roe with the one that I kept from the first batch and waiting till the Bunnies are grown enough to put it onto those.
I have also started a few " neck knife versions " a slightly smaller handle making it a better carry on a neck lanyard
