As per other suggestions, catch in trap, but then if you remember a thread on here not long ago about smelly fox attractant made from boiled down horse hoof clippings? Say no more

Catch said cat and rub a generous dollop of English Mustard on its rusty bullet hole - it will not injure the cat at all but is very unpleasant for it both on said bullet hole and when it tries to lick it off and I doubt it will come back after that...

The other one I have heard is pour a good amount of fairy liquid neat on its fur as it wont hurt it but it will go home and try to lick it off and be frothing at the mouth all over its home...

It's funny how GSP's seem to have a real fondness for cats, mine had a Persian for lunch one afternoon,
as the owner said it should have known better than to have gone in the garden

The townie tossers that recently moved next to us thought that constant squeely guinea pigs weren't quite aggravating enough so they brought a cat... First thing there highly intelligent kids did was sit the thing on top of the fence when we were sat in the garden with the dogs out, it must have been on there about four seconds before the Hanoverian nearly put a six foot fence panel clean through... Now it has tried four times in the middle of the night to get through our bedroom window off the conservatory roof, it keeps meowing and scatting the wall under our window I'm not sure wether to introduce it to the 9.3 and **** the hole in the conny roof or get hold of the ******* thing and see how far it will go over the fence launched in a discus throw style? God help the gormless helmet next door if I find cat **** in our garden...

I had one that used to sit on top of the gates cleaning its self just out of reach of the ESS & GSD. The dogs used to go mad to the point of council letter re complaints of dogs barking. So one day said cat fell off the gate (with a little help) lasted about 3 seconds but took me much longer washing the back yard down.

I cant beleive the numpties on here, advocating killing or injuring someones pet,

give it a good soaking with water, it will stay away.

My inlaws have had great success with the ultrasonic type deterant, though I am not sure how it may affect your dog if you have one.

the best moggy deterent i have found is a gsp they love to play with them, atb wayne

Just make sure its one that isn't used to dogs or fancies himself for a shot at the title, I recall a humorous 'dust up' in my front garden/kitchen involving said GSP, even the wife thought it was funny afterwards. Sadly I think the stripey ******* has reaped what he sowed as we haven't seen him for months and the rabbit population is unfortunately 'recovering'!!

+1 on the terrier front ...got my first Lakeland to deter next doors 5 pox eyed cats from s.....g in my garden ...worked a treat, her daughter still with us at 13 still enjoys a little game of cat & dog .. ...

Patterdale ? But if you want to do a good job cage trap it and then slowly poor a bucket of cold water over it and once its dried out a bit do it again. When you let it out I will bet a penny to a pinch of ***** that it will stay out of your garden. Everyones happy and the cats only wet.

We are not numpties we just expect cat ownership to come with a responsibility to the neighborhood and existing wildlife. Letting an instinctive killer out at night to play is not very fair.

I suggest you trap said cat then take it to animal rescue centre about 25 mile away. Owner will have to pay to get it back and after 5 or 6 episodes the penny might drop. Other wise complain to LA explaining that your neighbours are committing nuisance after all if they can stop law abiding people keeping cockerels because they get up at the time of day good hard working country folk do then they must be good for stopping some ones cat defecating in your garden with all the disease issues etc.
