Its because they dont know any better, their relying on past reputations the 2 and 3 series were excellent saws.
Even now the performance of a brand new saw is not much better, really very little from an old 254 to a modern 550, except the 550s lucky to last much longer than warranty, if ur lucky
254s still going 40yrs later.
And still are ( despite my hatred for new huskys i might buy a 353 to use some husky bar and chains up)
There is something far wrong when pro cutters are selling new saws to buy 'new' saws that are a 30 year old design.
Seemingly still make them at factory for africian and south americian markets, good old emissions to blame for uk/europe
20-30 years ago all the pro cutters all ran exclusively orange saws, was actually rare to see a white 1.
Now its the other way round.
In fact getting rarer and rarer to find a forestry cutter runing orange now.
( not that u ever seen 555s in the woods anyway, more a farmers saw but thats probably a good thing)
