Chamber vacuum sealers

Agree, the blood drawn look isn't ideal and no amount of hanging seems to be enough to stop it otherwise.
It's just myoglobin rather than actual blood. It can't be helped, but it doesn't look great I agree. The soaker pads help enormously though

I bought a strip sealer from Lidl many years ago. Sucked the life out of it eventually, but it packed a huge mass of meat and luggage for trips away. I bought a replacement and it just didn't have the same oomph.
Eventually got a chamber which is a whole different game, unless you're trying to shrink a coat to fit into hand luggage.
I always found thevacuumpouch.co.uk the best for buying rolls or bags.

After using my mates industrial vacuum sealer for ages i was looking to get a domestic one for myself and noticed a Buffalo one on Nisbets clearance site on eBay and picked it up for £313.I’ve only packed 50 Lorne sausage but seems to be working fine.

Absolute bargain! :thumb:

Sorry to dig up an old thread but seemed as good a place to put my question as anywhere…

Thinking of changing to a chamber machine - is the final presentation better than strip sealers? I think I read somewhere that because the vacuum is on the outside of the bag rather than inside that you get less blood drawn out of the meat. Can’t quite get my head around it all but is that the case?

Presentation is better, the whole chamber becomes ‘vacuumised’, not a case of the contents of the inside of the pack trying to get out to the outside, as is the case with tabletop strip vac sealers, where the inside is being drawn out as the rest of the exterior is at normal pressure.

Because I have a small Willie I have ordered one of these
feicing thing better work well.
Finally managed to try my vacuum chamber. OMG, it is fantastic. Cooked up a pile of mince and bagged it. Wow, just wow, way better then the bag sealer. Well recommended.

I guess they are limited to chamber size though so i'd still need a strip sealer to do a red haunch?
probably, unless you go for one of the larger commercial models. I can fit a fallow haunch in an old Bizerba but rely on an external for saddles
