I don't think anything else but a rib saw would work for being carried with you, personally I get them back to the truck they go up in the air off my hoist and work on them there, some fallow I have the greens out depending on where they are. What method and tools do you use on reds to open the ribs.
I'm curious as to you splitting tool.I don't think anything else but a rib saw would work for being carried with you, personally I get them back to the truck they go up in the air off my hoist and work on them there, some fallow I have the greens out depending on where they are.
Me being me I have made a chest splitting tool with no complaints from the dealer from using it.
I've used similar for work in the past.
You can thank me again, will do a hell of amount of deer.
Well done Get stuck inLots of options out there that don't take up too much room.
Professional Skinning and Gralloching Knife 16cm with Saw - Game Larder I have recently taken delivery of one of these and used it successfully on Roe and smaller fallow bucks. I was sceptical but it split the chest rather well.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Folding-Pr...lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A2HVUEHNFKBBBH&th=1 I have similar to this in the back of the truck and it works really well on the larger fallow I deal with (Largest being 87Kg so far)
OR there are the standard chest saws out there.
...std tripe knife.Have one of those in the kit somewhere, very useful.Ideally you need a saw that cuts on the pull stroke something like the David stretton breastbone saw.
Well done Get stuck in...std tripe knife.
Both hands on the knife!Had a bit of an incident whilst opening up a large fallow using that method, resulting in a slight injury so tend not to do it on bigger animals.
Casstrom chest saw. Comes with a belt pouch. Idiot proof (I can confirm, as a seasoned idiot)What method and tools do you use on reds to open the ribs.
