my mate makes these for me, could easily do an SD production running there was enough interest.
Made of stainless obviously. Good for muntjac to fallow.

What is the point of these things?

Handy to let the chest cold quick. And hold open to finish dressing the carcase

Why bother at all. Never have, can’t see the point personally, game dealers don’t use them - at least none I’ve ever used, and that’s quite a few

What the game dealer does it's up to him. The game dealer will soon knock the price down on damaged deer .

It's us as stalkers to put into the food chain good clean carcasses.

I hang in the shed overnight if the carcass is still very warm . It's so that the chiller is not working even harder to get the temperature down. In the morning they can go in. I leave the chest spreaders in till the deer goes

I have the spreaders so cold air blowing into the chest cavity can circulate better.
It what I was taught and still recommend

when people turn up they can see in my chiller nice represented tagged carcasses

AND you can boil/sterilise the individual sections; almost all of my spreaders are alkathene pipe, cut and notched. I DO like simples.

I put a v either end for more purchase helps chill warm carcasses down quicker
