Christmas dinner

Given we are now less than a month from the big day, what is everyone planning for their Christmas dinner?

We have an alternating model with a traditional (beef, goose or (if my wife he’s her way) turkey) meal one year and then an alternative meal the next.

This year it’s the alternative meal, so we will be having curry!!

Durban chicken curry
Maldivian king prawn curry
Chicken korma
Tandoori goat chops
Pilau rice
Naans
Kachumba salad!!

What’s going to be on your plates?

Beef, I had to deal with a young bullock a year ago so Swmbo is planning to split one of the joints, fill it with stuffing and roll it back up.
Only the two of us and we are house sitting, so keeping it simple.

Free-range organic turkey, courtesy of the poultry farmer I do a bit of foxing for.
Probably wrapped in an M&S or Waitrose plastic wrapper, but I'm grateful :tiphat:.
I like turkey.

A very mixed bag. I’ve 11 or so coming so I’ll cook to suit them all. As traditional as I can make it this year.

We are having all the kids and grandkids and great grand child all around on Boxing Day they are doing their own thing on Christmas Day on the table Boxing Day will be as requested venison, pork, smoked ham, boiled ham and turkey that should keep em quiet for a bit

4 carnivores and 3 strict vegans so not easy. Lidl and Waitrose to the rescue re vegan. Probably turkey. French onion and or chestnut soup to start.
I would fancy a rib of beef.

I will be in Thailand at Xmas , so I know it won't be turkey lol . Mine will be along the same lines as TringSaints got planned , which sounds amazing by the way .

Goose! We've had roast goose for the last ten years, and won't ever revert to turkey. Don't get me wrong, I love roast turkey. But goose is just betterer on every level
err correction mate, its gosling, have you ever eaten a goose? Like chewing on hippo hide lol.
I am a huge fan of gosling stuffed with a kg of venison/pork mince with minced bacon as well, fatty bacon that is..onions blah blah. What a meatloaf that is and next day spread the golden yellow set drippings onto hot toast.
We killed our own but alas hard to come by now so it will be jumbo prawns, oysters in half shell, crayfish and MB bugs among other things. Thanks toTring for bringing this thread in.

I’ll smoke some salmon for starters and believe it or not, we will have a rare fallow haunch with all the trimmings. Yorkshires, red cabbage, pigs in blankets etc.
