Admittedly I have sold quite a few things on SD in recent weeks, but it appears I have incurred a 'time-out' with regards to posting there.

Could Admin please explain what the rules are for this? Do supporters get infinte thread allowances in Classifieds or is that for Trade Members only?

Thanks

It’s maddening!

I just discovered this yesterday. Doing a clear out and have 10 or so items to sell, but got cut off.

Surely there can be some kind of common sense flexibility. Something like a one in one out policy, or an expanded allowance for long term members of (ahem) good standing??

Just to note, I could create a thread titled ' Sh*t Caberslash is selling, CHEAP!!!' and constantly update it vs. making individual threads.

Seems some have cottoned on to this and just made threads titled 'RELOADING' , 'BRASS' 'HEADS' or 'SCOPES' which they constantly add items to...

:stir:

Thank you to those people that read the rules. To those who didn’t, it’s not possible to make it any clearer! :banghead: 😄

Or pay to be a supporter?
Why?

If (like me) you don’t use classifieds sometimes for years at a time, but then have a clear out, why should you have to pay?

You could put 5 things a month for sale all year and sell 60 things for free.

But if I want to sell 10 things this week, and not sell anything again for a year or two, I have to pay?

Doesn’t make any sense.

You may not use the classified very often but you and many others make good use of this forum for discussions and debates.
It doesn't run itself so why be a freeloader?
Still doesn’t answer why someone who sells 60 things in a year can do it for free, providing they stretch it out over 12 months, but someone who wants to sell 10 things today can’t without paying…

Would seem to make more sense to impose a yearly cap. Or even quarterly.

As I highlighted above, it would be prudent to just make a thread called 'Mungo's Junk Clearout' next time.

Interesting that having an ad up for 5 years plus no bother? Think @Klenchblaize will have had his money's worth in that regard!

@caberslash you could start your own forum :)

The 'middle of the road' service is around £82 a month (U$100) I think by the time you get up to the same standard this site offers you maybe approaching £132 a month and you'd need to spend a fair bit of time dealing with spammers, dougnuts, and tossers.
But you'd have your own site where people could just buy and sell stuff all day long ..... and you could BAN people, think of the power.
Get started with XenForo

It's the rules of the site - there in black and white.

If you don't like those rules, mind the door doesn't hit you as you leave!
Well yes, that’s entirely fair enough.

Can still question them though! I don’t imagine you obey every single rule you encounter in life without wondering about the logic, even if you do go along with them because doing so is ultimately better than not!
