Has anyone got any advice on how to clean the inside of a Northstar sound mod, I was reluctant to pour anthing inside it that I couldnt get out

thanks in advance Mike

I apprehensively used Ballistol silencer cleaner, on a stalon mod that had started to ooze black sludge out the front when warm. Believe the sludge was due to the previous owner using wd40 abit to much.
I let the mod soak for 24hrs and was really impressed with the results.

I don't think I've even ever put any WD40 in mine (though the T8s get a squirt of it after use).
On the radiator or next to the fire if it's been a wet day - but I've never done anything that looks like cleaning to either of mine.

Mine came 2nd hand with the rifle (Tikka T3X in .223) and after a season of shooting with them, my friend put it through his sonic cleaner and was amazed that virtually nothing came out of it, this was over 4 years ago and it's never been cleaned since! Got no plans to repeat this process as I think it would be a pointless exercise so my suggestion would be not to bother other than add a bit of copper slip on the muzzle thread.

Any loose deposits are automatically cleaned with every depression of the trigger on a live round

This applies to all moderators
