Cleaning cases?

What do you add to the water in the sonic machine?
I just bout this one (Around £100) and adding a teaspoon of this powder and a squirt of Fairy liquid brings the cases up sparkling clean inside out.
Ken.
That's it. That's all you need.
I rinse in water with a drop of car wax in, helps to keep them shiny.

The answer 2 people have already posted - 1 said lemon juice and the other citric acid for cleaning the brass = same thing. Citric acid with a drop or two of fairy liquid [NOT a squirt] will work wonders if simply swilled around in the washing up bowl. If then put individually in a shell holder on a (n electric spindle] and cleaned with paper tissue will both clean and polish the brass inside and out. Cleanliness IS next to Godliness in reloading and the absence of contaminants. You will be surprised how much dirt comes out on the tissue from the inside of the case especially if electrically spun and the tissue goes into a twisted worm inside the case.

Regarding primers, I was under the impression that commercial‘civilian market’ primers were lead free now?

Perhaps I am misinformed.

where's that from Ken? i have good success with my dry tumbler, but when small amounts it doesnt do a great job, had 40 in it the other day for 24 hours and still dirty necks, so i might try the ultrasonic 👍

AMAZON.
The make is Crewe.
Cheers, Ken.

Just measured mine:
Inside: 240 x 135 x 100 mm deep.
Takes 1.7 litres water to fill to top line.
Feels heavy and substantial.
V pleased with performance.
It has a de-gas feature which I didn’t have on my previous one, whether that’s any use?
Ken.
Ps. Estimate 100+ x 223 cases capacity.

The stuff that has Lyman on the bottle. I just repeated the 8-minute cycle until the primer pockets were clean, usually 4-5 times, but the water was still black from the wet tumbling with a splash of washing up liquid. I tied to put the cases in the sonic cleaner immediately after de-priming.

When using these things to trim cases I thought the pin bottoming out in the primer pocket hole was the length guide, but when you put cases in the Lee holder there isn’t a hole for the pin to protrude into once it clears the case base.
Have I misunderstood how to use the trimmer?
Ken.

The pin is not meant to protrude further than the base of the holder when you have a case in it. When the pin touches the base the case has been cut to your required case length and any more turning will thus do no more cutting.
