Cocker bitch

My cocker has started drinking a lot more and obviously needing to go out to the loo during the night which is really difficult as I live alone and work (take her with me) she is totally herself but wondered if there was anything I could do for her, she is eating as usual and getting plenty of exercise. I suspect at 14 1/2 it may be age but after advice. She is booked in to the vet at the weekend but can not get there before then due to not getting home before they shut. Any advice would be grateful

Sorry, the options of kidney/liver/diabetic/addisonian for a dog would need blood tests. Although - you haven't changed food recently have you. My old lab started drinking more with a change to a crapper food. Took me a bit too long to work it out. Good luck with her

Agree with Buchan completely, multiple possibilities which will need some investigation to rule in/out. May as well go armed with a urine sample (dogs not yours!) when you attend your appointment as I personally usually want one if working up drinking/weeing case. Try to catch a sample of the first pee she has in the morning in a clean container and take it in with you, it will form part of the investigation.

Thanks for the advice, have a few sample pots as make great calibre specific holders for rifle cleaning jags! Will boil wash one out and go armed with a sample
