Check this out on my Sako A7, from Mcleods of Tain £55, works great and well made, smells nice too. I have to take it off to remove the Bolt, but easy, it's a stud fit.
After attending the best practice day at bassenthwaite on Saturday and learning a few tricks about rifle fit etc, I've come to the conculsion that I need to fit a comb raiser to my rifle
I have one of these and easily recommend it. It comprises a neoprene sleeve and a whole bunch of elliptial foam inserts of varying thickness so you can adjust to any height. It doesn't mark the rifle's stock and isn't permanent. (From time to time, I will move mine from one rifle to another, depending what I am doing.) Unlike thos that carry cartridges on the off side, your clothing will never snag on this sleeve. You'll have to hunt around to see who stocks them now, but I know they are available in the UK. Here is the manufacturer's website.
Thanks for the help guys I'm going to change my rings first then see how I get on I've never really worried about rifles fitting before unlike my shotguns but. From what I was told its just as important not that I have ever had a problem with my rifles but you live and learn will see how I get on
