Has anyone seen a combine harvester working this summer ? With all the good weather I'd have thought the Rape would have been cut by now?

We're too far North for any of the common cereal crops to be near harvesting, but there is a lot of rye grass being grown for biogas and that is being cut just now, so we now have several field in stubble that are just perfect for a fox to wander across - and be seen easily

Cheers

In south Wales, nothing yet cut. Barley, wheat and peas all visible from the house - nothing cut or even looking ready.

Not surprising. In my holiday experiences of Wales, it's always raining!
Shame on you - its a beautiful place - no rain for 3 weeks (approx) here. Mind you when it rains, it certainly doesnt do it by halves. All the locals at the pub last night were as brown as walnuts - all those except those that work !!

five fields cut around me,thame/oxon area, one rape field has had the head land cut but stopped now too wet.
