Converting a freezer to a fridge

I’ve just picked up a freestanding glass fronted freezer, I’ve been told that they can be converted to a fridge. Anyone got any experience with this? The unit is a ecofreeze Pegasus mk2 1d.

Thanks Matt

I have one the same that I got out of a shop that was refurbishing. I just run it on a timer, 10 minutes in every hour or thereabouts, and monitor the temp for a while to make sure it's staying within the parameters for refrigeration rather than freezing. I also stand a jug of water in the bottom so I can see at a glance without opening the door if it's starting to freeze stuff.

I converted a walk in freezer to a chiller. sikadog on her talked me through it all, give him a pm. I had to get a small part off the internet and alter a wire , simple. It runs a treat. Buy the bits and you wont have any worry about it freezing up.

just newly joined…. Hello everyone…
So I’m new to stalking and am also looking into a walk in freezer and converting to fridge…. Would really appreciate if some wisdom could be imparted on me! Many thanks for any assistance anyone can offer

I was doing some research and it seems that just slapping a digital controller on it the right way to do it….. I had read about expansion valves and different gas pressures required
i did have a relay go pop which was for a defrost cycle and touch wood it has been v good we have loaded it up with fallow and red,
how he explained it he just changed the set point from minus 15 to plus 1-3 🤷‍♂️ :tiphat:
