Looking to build a Custom 6mm of some description, this will probably be my last rifle before I retire my shooting so want something nice 👍 any recommendations for action, barrel,Smith , I like PRS stocks and carbon wrapped barrels but open to alternative suggestions 😁

I like PSE & MDT CRBN as well 🤩

Quite a swing between a stock designed for PRS competition, they tend to be very heavy to mitigate recoil and a carbon offering from PSE. The MDT CRBN is actually quite heavy for carbon.

Proof carbon barrels do have a nice aesthetic allowing less weight for a full steel barrel. However more weight can be lost with a thinner profile steel barrel.

As for the action, I rather like the American Rifle Company Cru de Grace. Three lug oversize bolt body with mechanical ejection. Very good value for a custom action.

Trigger Tech trigger

PRS or similar high cyclic rate of fire and stability (heavy balanced chassis)

Usually lighter recoiling cartridge for faster target acquisition on reload re engage

Upper end build

Impact 737 action

Pick any chassis - MDT, Vision, MPA, Ai atx

Trigger - any trigger tech or box n Andy - Sidhe, flario flare

Barrel - pick any well
Constructed stainless cut rifled tube profiled to help balance the gun

I sponsor a member of the UK PrS team who’s doing well

The above pretty much covers what he’s using in 25/47

If you were looking at factory

AIAtXc is an obvious choice

Cadex Seven stars Pro another

There’s also a MPA chassis AT action for sale at the next Holts auction would make a fine base for such as purpose

Don’t let anyone tell you AI AT actions are hard to cycle - they go buttery smooth within a few hundred rounds and will function for tens of thousands of rounds way after lesser actions have fallen apart

Lots of choices out there - budget will be the deciding factor

Accuracy is what he wants of the modern day era, cmon 6mm this is not a graded walnut variety.
I remember when the 700 action in an alloy chassis was the thing. Not long how things have evolved. And seriously the number of custom shops with the latest mills have altered it. Forget the Parkerhale

I would use a tennis racket as a stock before I picked any of them!

I believe this stock is pretty close to a tennis racket sans strings 🤣

Think the guys expecting exotic wood need to read the opening post and end use of the weapon

End use hasn’t been confirmed. One post is PrS stocks and the next he likes PSE carbon…

Quite the contrast I would say.

The 25x47 does look optimal for the uk for anything with a 134gr ELD…. I still like lead 🤣

if you intend to shoot PRS then a carbon barrel is a disadvantage , less weight and heats up fast

if it's an accurate low round count rifle you want then the action of your choice with a good barrel and trigger will work for you then you can drop it into any chassis you like/fancy or get the action bedded into a good stock like mcmillan or PSE by a good smith

your intended use is missing and that would help people help you ?

6mm creedmoor will shoot well and feed nicely from AICS mags the good old 6BR won't feed as well as easily but can be made to work by good smiths ?

did you have a calibre in mind ?

I did, I’m just not persuaded that an assembled collection of un modified mass produced components qualifies as a custom rifle.
For example, I could go to my nearest Blaser dealer and select from a wide variety of parts and pieces to produce a rifle that would be pretty much unique to me, but I wouldn’t call that a custom build.
