Customs Heathrow

Yesterday at 11.15 I had six guests from Iceland arrive at Heathrow with rifles to shoot fallow and munties. Whilst going through customs it was discovered that one of the letters on the visitor permits did not match the rifle that was presented. Obviously a genuine mistake. After contacting me the Customs contacted Herts firearms department who issued a new permit and posted to us. He was allowed to continue and bagged a couple of fallow in the evening.

What better service could you ask for.

The Icelanders has been told off for not checking his visitors permit.

Arriving back at Heathrow just before Christmas both Border Force and Customs could not have been more helpful. Indeed the Border Force chap was from Slovakia and a hunter over there and we had a good old chat.

Going out a couple of years ago just after the issue of EFP's the last two numbers of my EFP were interposed with the numbers on my firearm, instead of ending 17 it ended 71.
One of the guys was not too happy but then one of the others asked what the problem was and took my EFP, altered the number and signed it then told the other guy not to worry as we were going out not coming in !!
I produced my UK FC but the first guy thought I was up to something !!
Coming back was no problem as all I was needed to produce was my UK FC.
Just goes to show some do have common sense and some went to University ;-)
