CZ 512 inaccurate

Good evening folks, I’m looking for some advice please on a poor grouping CZ512. I’ve ruled out my poor shooting as the reason but can’t fathom why the rifle won’t shoot straight.
I’ve tried it without the moderator, changed the optic and used high quality ammo but it still puts rounds inches out in all directions shot to shot. It’s a five shot mag semi auto.
Can get a fairly decent grouping at about 10m but then further then that it shoots high low left and right with same point of aim. I’ve cleaned it and it’s immaculate really. Bought second hand from a friend of a friend who rarely used it. Stuck for answers on this, any help is gratefully received.

Have you taken it out of the stock and put it back making sure all the screws are tightened properly - had something similar on a cz455 after a “small” knock and that sorted it out. Another thought is if it has a picatinny rail make sure that is on nice and tight.

I’ve not taken it apart yet, I’ll remove the stock etc and just make sure all the fixings are tightened appropriately.

It’s an almost new gun, very little shooting before I bought it. Changed the scope twice and no difference.

If you've cleaned the barrel put some lead down it, my last semi auto would need half a brick to settle it down, a mates would need almost 50.

check the front swivel screw is not to long and touching the barrel? happened to a keeper mate when he changed slings.

22LR doesn't like to be cleaned. 22WMR hates it. If you want to shoot shotgun pattern groups from a 22WMR, clean it often. Also, 22WMR rifles can be finicky as to what ammo it will shoot accurately. Try everything you can get your hands on but first, stop cleaning the bore. Keep the action clean, but try to avoid cleaning the bore. A scantly oiled patch, followed with a few dry patched will suffice. I have a CZ/BRNO 611 that has had the action cleaned at every outing but only the patch treatment mentioned above, twice. Shoots tiny groups.~Muir

Make the barrel is floating and not touching the fore end. Just run a bit of paper down the gap.

Have you tried different brands of ammo yet? If you haven't try batches of European vs American and HV vs subsonic.

Not in this case! I mis understood " 5 shot mag" to mean it was the 5 shot 22WMR version. Same advice applies, though. ~Muir
