CZ scope alignment issue

Hi chaps
I am trying to help a pal who has a problem getting his meopta scope to align properly on his .222 CZ. With the mounts properly seated and with max windage adjustment it is still 6” out at 100 yds! Apparently this rail misalignment is a known issue with some CZs although I have never heard of it or encountered the problem on my own CZs. Others have suggested shimming one mount with coke tin slips but I think a more permanent solution would be best - sooo has anyone used adjustable mounts, did they work and where did you source them please?
Grateful for any assistance.

Worth swapping mounts from back to front, probably wont make a shite of difference but worth doing.
Used adjustable mounts on a 17hmr cz452 because of the same reason. They did the job but i always thought the adjustment added another level of risk in been able to hold zero.

It won't be the CZ but the rail that's out of alignment.
Native CZ527 mounts are high mounts to clear the bolt elbow, so a third party rail & scope combination often elevates the 'scope even higher.

Millett make windage adjustable mounts. I've got some on a couple of my Tikka(s) - Millett part no. TK0001.
If you search on that part number you'll find a supplier with a CZ set, or a rail ring-set. :)

Of course easy to prove its not the mounts like this .
I would suspect a couple of things first one tge scope, try a known good one !
Next I worked on a cz that didn't shoot and really should have , I found tge issue to be it was bouncing off its front action screw ( simply gave it more clearance ) one well known gun writer sold it him and it must have been put through the ringer and this point was missed (he sold it as a shooter , it was anything but a shooter )
Sometimes its just a presses of finding that one thing

What rings or mounts are they?

Bought a new CZ 22 Hornet back in the '80s, mounted an 8x56 to spotlight roos on small properties, couldn't get it within a full 6 pack target at 100m. turned out to have a seriously bent barrel out of the box. Was returned and replaced by importer.
Currently I have CZ 557 in 6.5x55SE, mounted a Leupold in Warne fixed rings and these are very good. Why run a rail on a dovetailed action, especially in 222?
Cheers
John

Cheers guys - for clarity read dovetail for rail i.e. mounted straight to rifle. Pal has ordered adjustable Milletts so lets see what happens.

I had this problem with mine , when the mounts were switched around to the way they’re NOT supposed to go the problem dissapreared and it’s been fine since (years)
