I've just renewed mine with them, and I have to say they were outstanding. 3 weeks and absolutely no nonsense at all, couldn't have beem more helpful and competent.
The GP, on the other hand, a complete, multi-layered shambles.
A monumental improvement from the previous time. The online system is obviously a much better way to do it.
Although they said they use a different system now involving using their brains and triage, with obviously simple cases dealt with quickly and more complex or dodgier prospects given considerably more scrutiny.

I can`t comment on a recent renewal but they turned around my variation (for FAC air) in a week.

I got my gp report and had my renewal application in within a couple of weeks of my renewal letter coming through. From memory that was Nov.
Got an automatic 8 week extension as my cert ran out on the 10th Feb.
Ive had a visit and inspection. Extremely thorough. Phoned my referees and all permissions.
Now I'm waiting.
I was impressed with the thoroughness. But it's taking a while.

Looking at the stats just out, if I were about to renew I would make sure you get legal insurance in place now. D&C are on knee jerk reaction with refusals and revocations at very high level.

Renewal due mid February - highlighted the commercial need for the ticket to be in place by renewal date and was delighted to have my documents in my hand a MONTH before due date. Congratulations DCC - online application had my referees contacted the day after receipt at Middlemoor. Feels like a return to the good old days when I could march in with a packet of chocolate Hob-nobs and leave with four visitors permits an hour later! Colour me impressed!

New certificate arrived today. With extra slots for 6.5 Grendel and 7mm PRC. Well within the automatic extension period.
Im pleased. I thought they were thorough and fair.
Now the mulling over of what to get will really make my head hurt.
