So finally JAK turned up at my door.
I'd got an outing lined up the following morning. This was his reward.
Initially I could only see 2 in the thermal.
As I could see this youngster in the open she fell to 140gn GMX.
6 Others took off into the woods.
On to the next outing the following day.View attachment 304628

This was taken in another woodland about 15miles away.
So back to work for 4.
Then another early morning saw this young but heavily pregnant doe in the same piece of woodland

Unfortunately this concluded my journey with JAK and I have now forwarded him on to Wales to start a new journey with another member.

To be honest John I would have kept JAK another week but having recently lost a gambrel and a mora I didn't want to tempt fate.

I'm going to try for some rabbits the next fine evening we get. A relaxing couple of hours with the 22lr will make a pleasant change from deer.

That’s a good idea. I might do that when it finally gets to me later this year. Might head shoot the odd pheasant too
