David’s JAK (Just a knife)

If we're going in order of reply, it looks like @Free range rob is going to get the bourbon. Unless he doesn't like bourbon, then feel free to pass it down the list. I might also send another bottle to the first person to supply your mate with a picture of that knife nestled between a pair of nice breasts (women's breasts not man-boobs).:p

Scott
Do you actually know a drinker who doesn’t like bourbon ?
I’m definitely in, this sounds excellent.

Strange how something as simple as this can actually make me smile, looking forward to not only my turn, but watching the travels as it goes around.
Would it be worth getting a dedicated thread pinned up for the pictures and a list of participants ?

David you are a naughty boy (Guy's and Gal's of the UK, it's a flick knife :) but it is sharper than I thought it would be...)

agree my friend and No3 it will come to you from North Colorado after its journey from me to Alberta Canada...

I sterilised it in bleach and annointed it with pure eucalyptus oil. One of those last rabbits that I gutted had an hydatid cyst on a shoulder that showed up after skinning, its safe to cut up a steak if needed.

Not Just A Knife aka JAK arrived on my youngest daughters 17th Birthday from JP, the parcel got put with my daughter's presents, later that day the whole family sat down with her to open her gifts, she said "look, I have been sent a present from Australia" we all had a good laugh and with all the girl's boyfriends around and family, they just gasped at the thought of this little knife going around the world...
Today it made a visit before its trip to Canada
JG asked "perhaps you may take a pic of the knife Kim with something British that I will send on to him"
I live in Cirencester so I thought it would be nice for David to see a sight that is just down the road from me, Bathhurst Estate

The Deed...
I went out to one of my normal locations to carry out the deed of taking the three and you guessed it, Nothing!?, sheep gone to market and field prepped ready for the crop rotation seeding.
There was simply nothing out and about, moved around the other 190 odd acres and still nothing, long grass everywhere and paddocks clear, came to a clearing and thought it had potential so waited, counted to 1000 and the Elmer Fudd quotes kept filling my mind...
The light changed and bingo out they came, five Rabbits in front, 40-60 yards - Bang (missed), all running Bang one down, one stayed still thumping his back leg Bang two down
Collected said rabbits the running one was not fit for a photograph (but I was pleased with the running shot) second good enough for David
Not totally convince with rifle accuracy so in the dying light I re-zeroed
Moved on to the Paddocks...
Light gone so on with the lamps, come to daddy...
Two for David then Three, from going out a 16:00 it was fastly approaching 23:45 with the Three for David and Twenty One for the Dogs in the vehicle box - I had a fab night out thanks to David
Got home 01:00, to be met by the Wife and Dogs, Wife's words "your Dogs wouldn't settle and your dinners in the microwave", old gal looked and checked the contents of the box and with satisfaction in her eye's retreated to the couch (that's the Dog, not the Wife), young dog muscling the Rabbits trying his damndest to pull them from the box in the hall while I was securing the guns
Knackered, too late to do photo's but the deed was done with JAK, I just did Three, my knife did the others and when finished I was greeted in the house again with the dulcet tones of "You Stink" :) :)
I will update the other thread with the image of the Three and JAK in CIRENCESTER ENGLAND August 2021
Monday will see JAK and The Diary sent to Alberta, Canada

JAK on route.webp
JAKs3..webp
Dispatched with a BROWNING TBOLT 17HRM and Paunched with JAK...

That`s a great post imo Kim. It is 5 AM atm and I have passed on to David. Too early for him to respond but he will be chuffed.
I`m really looking forward to seeing what SH can come up with also way over in Alberta.
Knowing David`s humour I reckon he might say "ffs why didnt Kim use the knife and get one of those beaut door knockers for me ha ha"

JG I have sterilised ole JAK and anointed it in oil made from the largest Yew hedge in the world, the one in the picture which measures 40 feet tall, 30 feet across at its widest point, and 450 feet long from end to end. All packaged up for SH just got to go to the post office (but it's Bank Holiday Monday here, so first thing tomorrow Tuesday 31st August 2021)

All the very best David you are in my thoughts - I pass the baton to alberta boy

Great news and appreciated so much by the man himself. I like the Yew oil tale.
I imagine AB might annoint it with bear grease lol.

23! That`s amazing and has steamrolled from a short story on the SD
