Because wages are too high in the UK. It's the taxation (PAYE & NII) that fund the state.

We need high income to meet a living standard that we all aspire to.

No, it's not that. Wages are comparable and employment costs much higher in the country I bought the rifle than they are in the UK, which has relatively low tax and employment costs compared to the leading Eurozone economies.

Aha! Your comment made me look up where they are made. I see Triumph have factories in Brazil and Thailand, so I guess the Brazilian ones go up north. Thanks for that. Totally irrelevant to this thread though, so apologies for that.

I just searched for the RFD in question and wondered whether if anyone involved else had noticed similar problems?

No problem. Just my opinion, but maybe if you have had a recent problem with said RFD and want to discuss it then a new thread might be better? This one is long dead and cluttered with chat about motorbikes!
