Hi All

Amazingly my chill has decided to pack up overnight with a fellow carcass in!

Any recommendations for chillers you are all using, either commercial restaurant type fridges, or anything please?

Needs to be the size of a large upright domestic single door fridge really due to space
Cheers all

If you've only got space for a large upright domestic single door fridge that does rather limit your options to exactly that.
Perhaps take this opportunity to reassess your use of available space, shift a few things about, make room, and broaden your search for a replacement chiller?
If the weather where you are this morning is anything like it is here, you won't have to worry about the carcass spoiling, and not for the next few days either by the looks of things. You've got time.

Cheers both, first thing I did was hang it in the back at ours in a shed it’s about -1 at the min. I’ll deal with the carcass shortly.

Oddly reset my chill and it started chilling again, so maybe the fact it was so cold overnight played a part in it, either way carcass is in good nick.

It’s not a domestic one, it’s an older Phillips commercial one, it’s been out there for a few years without issue. I’ll leave it on for a bit see what it does!

I picked up an old gram fridge from a chicken shop in Aylesbury that was being refurbished.
Internally it has shelving that can take the weight of a fallow suspended on a bar through the hock tendon.
Was £90 and works a treat - if you can find one!
