Deer Hide Tanning

Hi,
Sorry, not wishing to jump in here but I intended to ask a similar question.
I skinned a smallish fallow Doe last week and the skin came off so well I thought I'd look into my 1st attempt into saving the hide. I kept the skin in the fridge from Tue to Sunday and have frozen now. So based on Cyrus advice have I already ruined it ?? As it wasn't salted.
If you guys think not I'll look into the K tan kit.

I got Gary Knight to do a fox a few years ago for me. Nice job, and helpful guy but hadn't thought of asking him as I'd thought I would have a go myself. But for Tomc1990 worth contacting Gary. My fox was mounted but compared to some of the quotes I got Gary was very reasonable and even knocked a bit off when I collected my fox.

Thanks

I sent a sheep skin to skyeskyns recently, returned within a month and a beautiful job. They do deer as well. Generally provate tans are september to february, so if outside these times just properly salt it. Cost about 50 returned and not sent away but done on Skye. I sent mine in a feed bucket woth snap on lid.

Contacted them over the weekend and apparently they don’t do deer skins anymore!
