If you go to the link above which lists all of the courses Jelen offer, scroll down to the Advanced Deer Management course and you will see it clearly states ‘Eligible for the Forestry Training Fund’.
I applied for that very course and received confirmation that I have secured the funding for the August ADM course in Hampshire. So it’s definitely on the list and is supported by the FT fund!

Did you apply straight as soon as the funding was announced. I heard that the FC messed up and made the announcement before they had got half the trainers on board. Maybe you applied before Jelen were confirmed as trainers?

John Doe makes a valid point. When I first applied Jelen were not on the list as trainers. I contacted the Training Fund team and Jelen to ask about this and both were already in the process of sorting that out between them. A week later they were added as course providers for the fund and soon after that I had my application approved and a place confirmed on the course.

I applied early last week for the ADM course run by Mike at Jelen - was definitely on the list.

Was advised that the £700k fund pot for 2023 has been utilised and to apply for a grant/course post April 2024 when the new budget is available.

Heard nothing back as yet.

Deer related training is just a small part of a diverse range of forestry related training on offer through the fund. When they realised there were more training providers available they added them to the list very quickly. In an ideal world perhaps they should have done more research prior to announcing the courses available. I’m sure if/when the new budget is available those lessons will have been learned and it will all run more smoothly.
