I'm really keen to get some deer stalking experience in Somerset or West Country area. I've always been keen on shooting Rabbits with an airgun ......this is a big step up I know! I have booked on to a DSC1 course in March which should provide me with some basic skills and knowledge. Getting some good solid experience from an experienced deer stalker would be invaluable.
I'm an ecologist by profession and am aware of the damage that deer do to some woodlands (I have completed many woodland Sites of Special Scientific Interest surveys for fantastic woodland habitats and have completed Woodland Grant Schemes for landowners). I would like to develop a skill set that means I can, in a few years time, have a go a controlling populations where needed. Also love eating venison
