Deer stalking vehicles!!!!!

I’m Hilux now, was Nissan before. My mechanic told me avoid L200’s at all costs he described them as complete 💩
They're all as bad as each other though. Hiluxs rot away worse than any disco and Nissan, depending which one you get either blow up for sport or pop gear boxs or crack chassis's. I'd take the l200 over either of them and an Isuzu over that.

Or, get a Jimny and have done with it

Get the l200.... make sure it's the series 5 (there 2015 and above) they have timing chains instead of belts like the older l200s

If you go for a Hilux check the chassis and MOT history for advisories, for that money it will be made of cheese and possibly rotten. I just traded in a 61 plate and felt lucky to get £4k a mate saw it on a forecourt for 9k!

No way could I have sold it privately and been comfortable.

Yes yes and yes ☝️☝️ check the chassis, go over it with a fine tooth comb.....no doubt one of the previous owners could have abused it with salt water or maybe deer stalking 😬......I was the second owner of my l200, the original owner was a hire car company, it only had motorway miles and the chassis was fresh so I preserved it by getting it undersealed

Out of interest what did you use for the underseal.

Its was cleaned and degreased, coated with 2 coats of rust inhibitor, then undersealed with dinitrol 👍.......I'd take that over anything else....... below is a pic after 2 years and it still has a protective layer

I live up in the Austrian Alps, at about 3000ft, and the Jimmy's have always been incredibly popular. But in recent years the most common car you seem to see is the Dacia Duster. On our small road there are now 7 of them, you often see them up in the high farms and also as mountain hut cars used to ferry people and supplies to the higher huts (4500ft) on pretty rough winter gravel roads. I got one this year, it's surprisingly good at driving between Austria and the UK, and has survived Buckinghamshires potholes 😀 I've taken it on some pretty steep and muddy ground on my friend's Alpine farm and in locked 4 wheel drive it has impressed me. I've also seem a lot of vids of what they are capable of. Not as tough as a Hilux or Land Rover but well above the capability of most SUVs. Cheap too. I've also fitted three bikes in the back with the front wheels off and one rear seat occupied so it has fairly decent luggage space.

I've had an L200 and currently have a Hilux. The L200 was fine until it was around 7 years old, then the dreaded rust set in. I'm now having the same issues with the Hilux which will be getting a new chassis under the recall that isn't a recall but a 'goodwill gesture'.

I call bull****, where's your bf Goodrich tyres? 🧐

I am going to get the l200 2.4 warrior 2018 found a good deal and it took in all the good points. Will be checking it out on sat
Good man ......just remember to crawl underneath it and have a good look around for rust.......also it's more beneficial if it's an automatic.......the manuals had an issue of jumping out of third gear at increased rpm, the older ones jumped out of 2nd gear at high rpm

🤣......in all seriousness I crawled under at least 11 l200s before finding the right one ........ I bought mine from story 4x4 in Falkirk, the guy buys hire vehicles in bulk most of them are from rental car companies
Ha! He’s the biggest crook in the country!! Good luck!!!
