Deerstalking Fair, 29th & 30th April, 2017

I was chatting to a chap who thought that the fair was Saturday only 'as they don't work on sunday up there'

(I might add that he is a stalker and worked in a well known NE gunshop.....)

I couldn't be there because of work
Been to Kelso looked forward to some of the talks / demos but one I wanted was no show that year .... Shame that some folk pull out but also leave it so late to do so [emoji29]
Like sound of sausage man .. I process all my own beasts & yes it's an element to deer stalking... in fact often after trigger pulled work begins....
Definitely think the butchery & food side could be expanded...,
A tenner and free parking isn't even 3 pints in lot of places so great value ....
Long may this show continue & thrive

Thanks for that support. We know we will always have folk that aren't happy, never happy in fact :D (that isn't directed at anyone commenting!) and after only 5 years of doing this we are still learning too. We have a limited space to work with and a dedicated fair for stalking alone simply doesn't have enough different branches to draw in a huge number of traders. But the butchery you mention and the food side is definitely going to be bigger next year! :thumb:

Went on the Sunday numbers were were certainly down on last year, didn't buy a lot ,but that has never been my reason for going ,its a day to meet up with guys I don't see on a regular basis, and as usual the craic was brilliant.

Good to catch up with you again. You did pick the quieter day, Saturday very busy!

I was there on the Sunday and did buy a few bits and pieces. As said I also met some people who I hadn't seen for a while which was good. Hats off to John & Andy from Moray Outfitting who had name badges on. An excellent touch. I already know them but I think this could encourage more people to engage if they actually know who they are talking to. Something to think about for other exhibitors and event organisers.

I went to the first and third shows at Kelso. My round trip was 1366 miles, I had hoped for more. Visited every stand twice and watched butchery and tracking presentation, all over by 14:30, walked the dog for the umpteenth time and went home.
