Deleting threads

can I please have the option to delete my own threads?

I would think a pm to mod request would be a better option. On sites where the delete option is there threads disappear when the originator does not like the progression. However that is unfair where the contibutors are inputting relevent data.
You can always edit your own post to remove your own input.

A better option would probably be to avoid posting anything contentious in the first place.
