Dentures

Well, i've finally had to (gently) bite the bullet and accept that I've reached the stage where my previously-acceptable pearly whites would benefit from and overhaul. Despite being pretty careful to look after them, genetics have caught up and I'm now looking at a permanent denture. To be honest, the thought scares the hell out of me, but I'm rapidly running out of options, and want to get it sorted before I also start running out of teeth 🙄

Anyone have any pointers as to what I should expect? Or ask about? Initial consultation is tomorrow afternoon

Are you thinking a permanent set? Screwed in on pegs?
Dad's just had this done. New top set. Cost about 16k.
He was in the chair for about a day, 6hrs at least having the remaining ones removed. Not for the faint hearted.
He was on soft food and a temporary set for about 6 weeks. It all needs to heal and settle down. Then back for the proper set.
He was never left without teeth, and his face looks fuller and back to how he should be. The colour match is very good, not Dulux pure brilliant white.

I told him that's my inheritance he's spending. That was just the top set. He's looking to get the bottom set done too.
My wife passed out and snapped off her front tooth. Dad said to her if she doesn't need to get it pegged and replaced don't, keep with the plastic denture. It was very invasive. And quite traumatic at the time. Think he's glad he did it now tho. He'd been plagued by bad teeth for the last 40years.

Just had two implants in my lower jaw, total bill will be £7k once finished, but should be a more comfortable option and be more durable too, they ain’t cheap though!
