Dissatisfied with Swarovski service

Swaro warranty are crap here, takes forever, as to which is the best, I lent my swaro s to a customer last week, they had with them a set of Nikons and leica as well these wear all 10x 25, in the bush and tussock, 5 sika accounted for, leica came first, then swaro, but value for money the Nikons came tops.
As regarding lifelong warranty, most company’s offer it on glass, we probably handle 10/15 per year out of probably a couple of hundred sales. Usually old scopes and bingos.

Not convinced it was ‘normal usage/wear and tear’ that caused the failure in this case, but I‘ve had ‘own fault’ dropped scopes realigned FOC more than once from Swarovski, and also had to pay for two sets of binoculars being serviced and cleaned or recollimated ( the latter also likely an ‘own fault’ issue, the cleaning was for a pair of used binoculars I bought on here, so who knows what the previous owner had been doing with them; in each and every case the returned and absolutely like new or certainly better than they went in before the TLC.

Overall, highly satisfied with their products, guarantees and their repair services. And yes, I’ve looked through the ‘lifetime warranty’ products often mentioned, but found them to be rather more of a ‘life sentence’ in terms of comparative excellence in actual use at the times when it matters most.

I have used the repair warranty with several Swarovski products over the years with no complaint from me what ever on their return, a range finder I bought off here, turned out to have a dodgy range button. Sent in to Swarovski UK with an explanation form, it was repaired and returned with a letter to say this product would not be covered in future if it should fail, this was about the time of the range finder binoculars coming on scene. No cost for repair either? Still use it now. My X5i rifle scope was I have to say, damaged by my careless treatment which resulted in its return for repair in AUSTRIA, returned back as new, performing spot on. No cost to me. All my other Swarovski products have been faultless as is what I paid for.

I’ve used their repair service twice. Once with a scope that had fogged. Repaired foc! The next time, several years later, was for my EL range mk1 where the button for ranging had literally worn out. Full service and repair was about £180 and worth every penny.

I've been looking for a pair of used binoculars without RF for the last month.
Zeiss, Leica or Swarovski.
I have Googled all the webpages in most of the countries I rely on.
I found many used Zeiss that I was really interested in buying.
I checked with Zeiss Norway with the serial numbers.
And to my surprise many old models (15-20 years old) wasn't possible to performe any services on, or getting any spare parts...

In my opinion isn't Zeiss good enough for me.
Since I'm willing to use around 10.000,- NOK on a pair of used binoculars.
But they are not willing to give me the services I want.

Leica is to expensive for me (Noctivid)
So for me, my wallet and the possibility for services and principal it's a used Swarovski EL I'm going to buy...

Not convinced it's normal wear and tear ? What else do you think it is? That I have been using them as post knockers ? The grub screws have gradually worked themselves loose as they were not torqued down properly or thread locked

That's sad to hear, I've had Swaro in the main for 35 years and the AS care has been amazing (bar the rangefinding limited 2yr warranty.)

Maybe the hammering HikMicro are giving them in market share on binos and scopes has meant they have had to reign in?
