Dog Insurance

So, having just acquired another 2 cocker pups in the last couple of months we now have 4 dogs in the household and it got me thinking about wether to look at insurance.

Any recommendations folks? So many policies don’t cover working dogs

I cant offer any specific suggestions I'm afraid but one general precaution, make sure you read and fully understand ALL of the terms and conditions of the policy within the 14 day cooling off period.
Decide if you want a "per condition" cover (which may have a financial or time limit form diagnosis) or a covered for life policy which, as the name suggests, covers the pet for as long as you pay the premiums (granted they will increase!)
Personally I would suggest a policy that covers up to at least £5000 as advanced imaging and surgical techniques are pricey.

I think NFU might cover working dogs but otherwise compare the market or similar is a decent place to start.

I moved all of ours onto “manypets” who were bought by many, all combined came in at the same as one policy with petplan and the cover seemed the same, so…. Have yet to claim on their policy, but the online feedback wasn’t a turn off

It's fine when they're younger, and nothing is wrong, but they have your pants down with the premiums as they get older, cos that's when you need the insurance. My last one started at £14/month, and at 12 yrs old I was paying almost £45/month. It's a dilemma for sure, especially if you don't have that much spare Wonga

I’ll look into that, cheers
