Panacur is my go-to wormer.
If you know someone who buys it by the gallon, you can usually get a small bottle filled

Frontline is fipronil and won't touch worms.
Questions to answer - does your dog have worms, or do you have young children, or does your dog eat raw food. If yes then worming may be justified and Drontal is a reasonable OTC wormer

I thought that but it appears you can now buy a wormer branded frontline, you could be correct in that it doesnt kill worms, cause it doesnt kill flleas out side of a lab

We started using Panacur 50 years ago at a cost of a few cents per dog,it works and is cheap compared to the 'others'Panacur is my go-to wormer.

Do you not advocate every four months or only if you see sign of infestation?
My dogs work , picking up, beating , rabbiting , eating ket , sheep shite etc , get fed mainly kibble but bulked out with venison , pheasant keels . I just worm every four months would you say wait until I see signs of worms?
You probably won't see signs of worms in an adult fit dog. The old advice was worm every three months which was a compromise between the risk to humans from roundworm (Toxocara) and the wormer only lasting 24 hours so a few weeks later, the dog can be shedding eggs. But we know that the way the worm infections work, it is only the dogs/cats regularly eating prey (rodents and birds) that are significant hosts for Toxocara. So if they are eating venison, no problem, sheep ****, rabbits no problem, poultry can be, but I don't know about game birds.
It's a bit different if you have an entire bitch as the can shed eggs, especially if you are breeding.
So I suspect you don't need to worm. Certainly not for the heath of your dog. IF you have young children, then it's sensible to do it

Do not use it on collie dogs or collie x breed dogs. They do not react well to it. Have used it for mange on terriers in past, not sure about worms.
