DSC 2 Gralloch disposal ?

What have you actually done so far with the grallochs from the deer that you have shot?

On a couple of places leave on site (down rabbit hole, under brambles/fallen tree roots etc away from footpaths) and take head and feet away as there are dog walkers. One place he has dogs that wander the woods and I bury it only shallow though. Head and feet go in my home bin. Other places it all stays on site.

That's a good answer.

DSC2 is not there to catch you out. Its a practical assessment by those with practical experience.

If you have some idea of Best Practice e.g. the hypothetical 1m deep hole or the licensed waste carriers if you are using a deer larder and describe what you have actual done in practice you should be ok.

Refresh your memory about the theoretical stuff that you learnt in DSC1 though, you will need this for the AW questions.

ps - probably best to leave out the bit about heads & feet going into your domestic waste.

Why? If not suspected of disease it can go in The bin?

Cheers Tim, I thought there was one specified recommended best practice answer. Only said about the bin as was being real life honest think I would leave it out for DSC2 though would be interested to know honestly what others do with with feet and heads if taken off site.

I was looking at it from a slightly different perspective, round here the Council is getting a bit picky about what goes into the domestic bins so why introduce an unnecessary complication to a simple answer?

Antlered heads go onto the shed, other skulls I put in an adjacent Elder bush, legs are used as dog training aids. Also keep a representative sample of lower jaw bones...not really relevant to DSC2 though.
