DSC1 Teachers how much experience

3990 DSC2 including 1 Finbear 270

Never realised that many had level2

I think it is fairly obvious that it has become established as a required qualification if that many people have made the effort and expense to get it :stir: :)

How are those adamant not to get it going to compete against those numbers of stalkers that have? :stir:

well, like has been said earlier, teaching craft is like many skills in that you are either good at it or not. If a candidate had a good course that you enjoyed then the 'trainer' has done their job well. What else do they need above the qualification they teach if they're good at getting the info to stick.

What is the op hoping to go with this?

+1 :thumb: paul when i was at your's a couple of years ago it helps when you put it across as easy as possible and also put the person at ease, which you did .I know how bad i was with nerves at being in a class again.you a top man mate :thumb:

I think the original poster was getting at was, would you expect the trainer to be more qualified than the qualification you are trying to pass. Correct me if I am wrong

I was a Firearms Instructor but I am now a Firearms Trainer. By filling in a few more forms and paying some more cash I could be an adult education teacher (I can assess other trainers and instructors though!) What I am not is a powerpoint facilllatator, one of those people who apparently teaches by reading out the PowerPoint slide for you. I am just far too busy in lessons dealing with:
1. People with different learning styles.
2. Challenging people who make inappropriate comments.
3. Ensuring that I get Group work in at every opportunity.
4. People who do not have English as their first language.
5. People who just didn't realise this 'gun stuff' could be so violent or be a bit more complicated than playing 'call of duty'
So if you enjoyed your DSC 1 course and if the instructor was good, or tried hard then that's a good thing. If you passed great, if you did not but were given feedback and advice about what you can do next time then that is even better.
If you are the one delivering it and you are confident that you know you stuff and can answer the awkward questions most of the time, are a good role model for the sport and have a sense of humour then you are what the student needs.
