I’ve not heard anything
A few people I’ve spoken to just lately, have said the BASC is having a membership drive, after this exercise has been finalised apparently it will be needed to re balance the membership books as a lot of good people will have gone elsewhere after this debacle
It’s a shame no one has been kept up to do date, I’ve been a member since the WAGBI days, I joined to keep wildfowling as it was then as I grew up wildfowling and pigeon shooting and I guess I will still be a member because I’ve got mud in my veins, even though I’m 99% deer stalking now and rarely pick up a shotgun these days, I still believe the BASC are the best bet for the future of ALL field sports, but I’m pretty disappointed right now and for the life of me I can’t find any reasoning behind it all - it’s a bit of a kick in the pants for potential L2 candidates, That is a great shame and losing experienced stalkers who are mostly unpaid mentors for many many newcomers to stalking is a loss alround

Looking on the bright side - like you do - no news is good news.
But irrespective wether it’s from BASC or DMQ the silence is deafening. -
Talking to two other Aw’s Last week, they haven’t told them they’ve jacked in, but they won’t be doing anything for BDS, BASC or the DMQ in the future ( just washed their hands off the whole kit & caboodle) and won’t be renewing any memberships for any of them, that on its own is a death knoll for Mentoring and L1 and L2 candidates, real time BASC and BDS will lose revenue, overall it’s a sad & bad day for the shooting fraternity

And the relationship, current and historical, between BASC and DMQ isn’t extremely close (if not actually incestuous) ?
