Duck duck go - any good

Absolutely fed up with Google covering everything with adverts.
Duck duck go " claims " not to do this ,anybody using this paragon of virtue .
Any problems, pros and cons or does the if its too good to be true rule apply

AdBlock Plus, Ghostery and use Firefox. Chrome is better avoided. Get's rid of almost all ads on websites. uBlock Origin does the same for YouTube. AdBlock Luna does the same for mobiles, including removing ads within apps. There's always a way if you really want to.

DuckDuck go is fine but not as efficient as Google. Bing might be a better choice. Also use 'Bard' - googles AI for search as its better than just using google and you can get a lot more from it than just search results. Make technology work for you.

Just another bit for UBlock, its working on my PC to block the ads on Amazon Prime instead of paying the £2.99 to go ad free.

(I have a PC connected to the TV in the sitting room as TV apps are slow and rubbish)

I use Duck Duck Go on the recommendation of my brother who is an IT consultant (retired).

uBlock Origin is an add on for desktop browser

Luna is for mobile devices (iOS or Android)

Search for an app called Pluto Tv. It does have ads but does provide a lot more entertainment channels. You can even find the app on app store. Keeps me entertained a lot more than the standard broadcast.

I dont watch live broadcast, I've not had a TV licence for about 15 years.

There's duckduckgo and then there's duckduckgo. I only use their search engine, haven't used Google for 10+ years on principle. Duckduckgo also has a browser, at least for mobile devices. Haven't used it.

Using ad blockers and duckduckgo search engine compliment each other, there's no "choose one or the other". Duckduckgo search engine respects the parameters you give, like Google used to do 20 years ago. Google search results are pure BS, whoever pays most gets the "pole position" and they also think for you i.e. filter away the results that are not to their liking.
