i just thought i would mention that i am "dyslexic", i have all sorts of software to help me with my "learning disability" funded through SAAS for my Degree at St Andrews uni. The really big problem i have is my hand writing speed, i can type on a qwerty keyboard at about 45 - 60 words a minuite, i can write long hand about 7 - 14 words a min, this maybe (WAS) the cause of me failing all my GCSE's as a youngster many years ago, due to the fact that i can not manage to complete a hand writen exam in the allocated time. So, many years of hard labour, crap jobs and feeling like a failure later, i now have a National Cert, a National Diploma, a Higher National cert, a Higher National Diploma, and 2/3rds of a Honours Degree!
Thank GOD for educational pyscologists! if it was not for his assesment i would not be at Scotlands TOP Uni, achieving 90% + in my course work!
Learning "disability" i like to think of it now as more of a Learning "ABILITY". (i would still like to see my old School BURNT to the ground, as an educational establishment it failed in its objectives) but i dont hold a grudge.... much..
Roll on the PHD!
