The East Mercia Branch of the BDS are planning to deliver a EFAW+F course.

This will take place at The Falcon Hotel, Uppingham, Rutland.

Start time 0900hrs with an anticipated finish time of 1800hrs on Saturday 31st May 2025.

This will be an in depth course looking at what stalkers really need - how to keep yourself and others alive until professional help arrives.

We are planning this with a maximum of 12 attendees, and therefore this will be on a first come first served basis.

Cost will be £135 per person with a light refreshments included.

Each delegate will be receive:
A quality First Aid manual to keep, laminated wallet sized certificate & I will email yourself & the individual their formal A4 pdf certificate.
All certificates are valid for 3 years in line with HSE stipulations.

Forestry section to cover
• Catastrophic Bleeding Control - including use of: Sterile bandages with sterile dressings, Israeli bandages plus bomb blast bandages & Trauma fix bandages.
• Combat Application Tourniquets, improvised tourniquets, the Tourniquet & the various Haemostatic products available.
• Wound packing theory & practical.
• Crush injuries & suspension trauma.
• Effects of extreme cold & heat.
• Lyme disease & Snake bites.
• Lightening Strike & High Voltage injuries.
• Emergency planning and remote medical assistance.

HSE Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus:
• Unresponsive Adult & resuscitation (CPR), Burns & scalds
• Choking adult, Communication & casualty care
• Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory based)
• Defibrillator pad placement (theory based)
• Minor and severe bleeding
• Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)
• Seizures, Shock
