But there is also a massive rabbit population but I get bored shooting them
Very thin on the ground in my part of tge countryi shoot a small farm (180 acres) which is part of a three farm game shoot
its quite near a large housing estate plus park lands and a tip
ive only ever been out once and not seen a fox
the two last night were number 85 and 86 shot since the 1st January this year
a mate of mine looks after the other two farms and has shot 112 foxes this year
(i saw him a fortnight ago when he told me this so could be a few more by now)
so yes foxhunter you could say we have a large population of foxes
Same where I am. I have been shooting foxes for over 30 years and it's always been the same.Very thin on the ground in my part of tge country
I was out last night on 500 ac Hill farm loads of hares about, I seen 1 fox but due to a steep bank and sheep wire fence the opportunity passed I didn't call or reveal myself as ill get him another day, that was the only one I seen in the 4 hrs roaming about, I was just using thermal as I know the open tops landys foam them rds and the foxes are probably lamp shy, I had one in my sights last week on new ground, spotted him with thermal and once the ir was turned on, he just sat down and wouldn't come any further, so someone's at them with the lampsSame where I am. I have shot farms for rabbits for years and years and never ever seen a fox .
Fox shooters are really spoilt down South shooting hundreds a year , wish I could do the same but then again it means more when I get a fox up here. It's like shooting fish in a barrel sometimes down South.
If they came up here they would get a massive shock ...lucky to see 1
Thermal and nv has killed the job up here.
Some areas have rabbits some have none. Some areas have deer some have none. Some areas have foxes some have none. I just addressed an envelope, enclosed an SAE plus a nice letter and was putting my newly purchased SD card in when I noticed it was a 32gb card!
Bugger, bugger, bugger - their site says 4-16gb so all on hold until I get the right card.
