Electronic fox callers

The best way I have found over the years is to bait, trail cam, and observe when the foxes are active.

With bait the key thing is to keep the fox engaged for a while, otherwise the bait is a bit of a take away dinner. You want them to come in, sit down, and dine for as long as possible. So, what I do is take a shot pigeon or rabbit or anyhting that a fox would feast on open up the carcass then using some wire mesh fencing cover the carcass and stake the fencing to the ground. You can use sharpened sticks and hammer them into the ground. You can either bait and wait at this point but i find its better to bait then capture the activity on the trial cam. This gives you details of the number of foxes visiting and more importantly at what times.

Hmmm. I just addressed an envelope, enclosed an SAE plus a nice letter and was putting my newly purchased SD card in when I noticed it was a 32gb card!
Bugger, bugger, bugger - their site says 4-16gb so all on hold until I get the right card.

Just back from Perthshire and my said SAE was waiting for me with the SD filled with new calls. A quick transfer of cards and a few moments syncing with my remote and the Icotech 500 is now in “UK” mode so no more rare and exotic animals shooting for me!
A big thank you to Bestfoxcalls for their excellent customer service - very much appreciated.

Hi dawnbreaker Hows it going with the calling?
just thought id tell you about one i had last night
had the caller on hand call 3 a fox came from my right ignored bait but went bolt upright at the sound of the caller
when the caller went again it ran about 75 yds down a cover crop then turned and came straight through the cover crop and across the field (about another 80yds) and jumped onto the caller which it camo and under a bit of camo netting as well
as it jumped back off it i shot it but have never had a fox come in so fast before :fox: :camo:

I've been trying vixen in heat as you ladsnhave been having success...my local populous of foxes must be modern day male and intouch with their feminine side as bugger all has come in to get his leg over! 🙄

had a vixen come in like a train from a long way out, to vixen in heat the other week :doh:
On the golf course last night, saw one in the distance up the fairway pre occupied worming but no safe shot so crept around unnoticed and positioned the caller at 90 degrees and used the wind to hopefully draw it for a shot.
Hit vixen on heat and this one steamed down the fairway like it’s arse was on fire! Stood looking at the caller in a very accommodating position for the shot! Another vixen.

Out last night for a fox that's had a few of the farmers chickens. Crept into the highseat below the farm, flicked on the caller and fox immediately ran out of the farmyard never to be seen again. Has the look of having been "educated" to the caller! Off out with the dogfood and trail camera later!!

Vixen on heat let me down last night, saw one in the spinney through the thermal so played it for a while with no reaction at all, rung the changes still nothing so stood and waited patiently for half an hour before this big lad wandered out under his own steam.
