Electronic fox callers

I'm not sure if a caller has even made a difference 🤔. A well bated area makes thr biggest difference from what I've seen. Take Saturday for instance, 3 dogs running around the top of the field as they do most nights and 2 blokes removing a high seat that was leaning up against the permanent high seat. So probably 15 minutes of disturbance, I got in the seat and first scan, a dog fox in the bottom corner of the field patiently waiting for its dinner. It was fed lead that night.

Other nights, very soon after using the caller, foxes have come in, but are they coming to the sound or the bate? 🤔

Bait is my guess if you keep it going down. Maybe the caller adds interest, or maybe if they have wised up to a caller it could have the opposite effect we are looking for. Bait & Wait is king!

Off out tonight for a one I've been baiting for a few nights. Ran from the caller last week so been chucking some food down for it (plus my caller is off at the doctors getting fixed!). He's been regular early evening and early mornings - pretty sure it's on his way out on his rounds and on his way back. If I don't see him tonight then I'll be out at 5am tomorrow to catch him on his way home!

Hi dawnbreaker Hows it going with the calling?
just thought id tell you about one i had last night
had the caller on hand call 3 a fox came from my right ignored bait but went bolt upright at the sound of the caller
when the caller went again it ran about 75 yds down a cover crop then turned and came straight through the cover crop and across the field (about another 80yds) and jumped onto the caller which it camo and under a bit of camo netting as well
as it jumped back off it i shot it but have never had a fox come in so fast before :fox: :camo:

Got 2 last night to the caller i have a feeling I'll get more 🦊🦊🎯🎯

well done dawnbreaker see it was only a matter of time and sussing it all out
now you know that call worked try something else
ive found no two nights are the same
some like different volumes on different calls
and a dead fox cant come into the caller again

I started with rabbit distress 1 for a while then changed up the call different rabbit distress on a slightly louder volume the turned it down auick scan with the thermal and seen Charlie slinking over the wall, I could see he was checking it out I turned the caller of and brought him in with a hand call then oi arse down head up 53grn v-max through the bib bang flop at 110m job done, the other fox was more of the same

i was just comparing the sizes of both of them in the picture
there seems to be some big dogs about this year
i know there in winter coat but they seem big, heavy and strong around the neck
glad your getting them to come to the caller
i was only chatting about it with a mate of mine last night
he seems to think he read somewhere that the speaker cone is different from the gen 1 to the gen 2
and that makes the differents to foxes with there highly sensitive hearing

Yeah your probably right, I've got the gen 1 and there coming into it might change it to get gen 2 at some stage this yr

ive said it before on here but he struggled to get anything come in to his gen 1
sold it, got a gen 2 and has never looked back
i had a cheap Chinese copy before i got my gen 2 but that worked for me (just ate batteries and had a shorter range)
but more than happy with my gen 2 hellion gc500
