Element ballistics app

Hi all,

I have an Element Helix HD 1-16 x 50 SFP with Raptr-1 reticle that I am setting up on my .243,
Can anyone that uses the element ballistic app tell me what exactly Is the difference between the ranging magnification and the current magnification ? As I understand the current mag is where you actually have your scope set to (what mag you want to shoot with) but I’m not sure where I need to set ranging mag to for it to give me an accurate representation on the app where the POI will be?

Unfortunately not, still none the wiser ! Although to be honest I haven’t looked into it much more.
When I seen the notification I was hoping someone had.
Are you using the app yourself ?

Did you try reading the manual? It says x16.

Picked up a Nexus without any paperwork so will have a look at the manuals kindly supplied by JCS

Ranging magnification is the ‘true reticle magnification’ which is the specific x magnification setting on a second focal plane scope where the subtensions are accurately caibrated. On the Helix HD this is 8x as indicated in red. In the Element Ballistics app it will show the hold points for your current magnification in relation to the true reticle magnification.
