Why cant I use emoticons when replying to a thread:?:

It's because it uses 'Quick Reply' by default for typing a quick response. Click the Go Advanced button to open up your reply in the full editor.

I've made a modification to the Quickreply template so smilies are now accessible from there as well as the 'Go Advanced' editor. There are also a few more smilies to play with!
