So chaps, I'm after the above, ideally with a pocket/belt clip, and max length,
wont get lots of use so im not looking to spend more that £75 really, so far iv only looked at a few Gerber Knifes.
So any recommendations will be great,

thanks,

lee

You say for edc; are you looking for a non locking blade type?
KB.

If you're looking for a legal EDC knife with a belt clip, get one of these:

However if, like me, you're happy to stick two fingers up at the EDC laws, get a Buck 110 and a belt pouch. But don't blame me if you get into trouble.
(Having said that, I've been carrying a Buck 110 all day, every day, for 35 years, and no trouble yet).

If you’re looking at non-locking knives, I like the Spyderco UKPK, though I prefer the drop-point blade versus the leaf type for general use. One-handed opening is a big plus, and it’s very light to carry, although I think they’re around £100 these days.

Smaller than that is the Squeak, which is cheaper but might be a bit small for you.

Most of the time I carry a Victorinox of some description. The Alox models are more robust, but you’d need to hang it on something if you didn’t want to keep it in a pouch.

The Alox Solo (single blade) is great to just drop in a pocket - no sharp edges, and a sturdy non-locking blade.

One advantage of Victorinox non-locking knives is that they don’t tend to look scary to most people, depending on where you might be using it.

some nice knifes there, id need it to be legal yes, dont want to fall foul of the law, although its ok for skuzz buckets to wonder the streets with machete's. knowing my luck id get 5 years:p
i do have an old Buck knife somewhere but its long and it locks, i have a decent field knife but when im out walking the dog i generally carry it on my belt in its sheath,
but i know i shouldn't, even though I'm generally on private land but often on public rights of way, i never walk my dog on the streets.
My field knife lives in the back of my truck, which it probably shouldn't, and in the summer months when my pigeon shooting gear is in my truck i also have a big Billhook, and an old extendable cosh i use as a priest  i make sure i take them 2 items out now after every outing,

+1 for the above.
I’ve used mine for a couple of years and initially I had to do a bit of work on the blade to get it sharp as I wanted it.
It does hold an edge very well.
It feels good in the hand.

Opinel and if not sure get another Opinel (I try to avoid French products but make an exception here). Easy to disable the lock (if your bothered) and a simple hair band can provide that function if required. 👍

Ive dismanteled most things with one of these.

The bigger one can be better but you need a reason to have it.
Yep Victorinox Huntsman or similar. Has a nice "non-scary" vibe, super useful, can be made very sharp. The Victorinox leather belt pouch-thingy is also practical and looks good. I have many, plus an Alox one which is very slim and thus disappears into a pocket, if that's what you want. Bit of para-cord to make a lanyard helps find it!
