Every day folding pocket knife.

I quite like this Twisted Assist non locking flipper knife for £50. Sub 3 inch blade too.

Ah why not, if I might ask? I have larger Mokis and have the small Fish Owl in my basket!

Happy to hear any negatives…?

Cheers!
It’s really thick as a blade and difficult to get sharp, it’s also very small. If you are convinced you want one I’d happily sell mine

I've carried one for a little longer than that, but I picked up a Benchmade Bugout after I gave my buck to my best friend's daughter last hunting season ( everyone needs a good knife ).
Not to derail the thread , but when did they come out with locking blade regulations ? That makes absolutely no sense .

The Benchmade Bugout and mini Bugout are absolutely perfect for this sort of job. Can’t see past them. I carry the mini all the time.

Re. The regulations: there has been ongoing bed wetting about knives for about 15 years.

We do have problems with knife crime in some areas (the usual big city gang dominated areas). And we periodically have a high profile mass attack (like the lunatic who cut up a bunch of small girls at a Taylor Swift dance party). The politicians, as ever, feel the need to be ‘seen’ to do something. Since knives are everywhere, in every kitchen, and nastier tools are in every garden shed, their only option is to make up rules that actually do nothing effective but look like they’re being proactive.

I was actually talking my son (11) about this. He’ll be going to high school next year, and we were discussing what he’d be doing for lunch. Without thinking, I said ‘you can take in apples and tomatoes and just cut them up with your knife’. He looked at me like I was completely insane. ‘Dad - I’d be excluded within 5 min if I did that’.

I was given a Swiss Army knife at age 8. Carried it and its various successors every day through the rest of my school career. Every kid at my primary school had a knife as soon as the school rules allowed (8). It was a rough school (colonial style boarding school in Kenya), and bullying was rife. But not once did anyone mis use their knives: it was understood that this was a line you just did not cross.

But isn't legal for EDC.
All you need is lawful authority or reasonable excuse to carry almost any knife ( some are prohibited). examples. some reasons that I have used/heard are- I drive and older car/bike and I need it to help fix bits, I am first aid trained and need it if I need to cut clothing/seatbelts etc. ( I have had to do that in the past), I am going to be buying some bead and cheese for my lunch/tea which I am eating out and have it for cutting the cheese. Yes I know that it is a lock knife officer and you may not like that, but I have given you a reasonable reason for carrying it and your opinion is immaterial, the locking mechanism if a safety feature of this knife. More people get into trouble for not knowing what they are saying than for carrying it and having the good reasonable excuse

I’ve got one of these - quite impressed! I carry a couple of spare blades in the supplied nylon belt case along with the knife.

Thats all well and good but you cant carry on your person just in case you need it for a car repair while your driving about.
It should be stowed in your tool kit /bag with the rest of your tools.
Your pull over and going into the shop for something with it in your pocket you have no reasonable excuse to have it on your person.this is obviously just a made up example of how some have been caught out for the sake of the conversation.

But in the real world last year there was an older man in our village chippy.
Standing in the cue. When two coppers came in for whatever. As the man was served walked out one of the coppers followed him out and stopped him, we were all watching wondering what was going on? It turned out he had a pen knife on what looked like a belt clip attached on his pocket. We watched the other copper go out as well and was looking at the knife. It was not that long ,maybe 3-4"
But it was 100% a locker

The copper with the knife asked him about , he said hes been fishing !
The other copper asked where his fishing gear is to which he pointed to the the carpark. I heard the cooper say thats fine but it should be with the rest of your fishing gear . Read him his rights and took him over to there car.
I don't what happened after that. But the chip shop was alight with chatter 😂

It did make the local papers though and was due to appear in court.

You may be able to come up with the most tenuous reason as to why you believe it ok to have it in your pocket , but is it really worth the argument with the law over it especially being a cert holder ?

Plus im sure the are better tools for fixing a car , and safer too . 😂

Ultimately you do as you please and i wish you well with it buddy ✌🏼

Having heard of many similar stories, I now have clipped a second Mora sheath to the rear dog cage in the boot of my DS to which I transfer the Mora from my belt before I set off to drive to my permissions. The logic, as expounded by a police officer was that the knife was not on my person and if I was to enter into a road altercation, it wasn't immediately to hand. Sadly not totally muscle memory yet to pop it back into the scabbard on my belt on arrival at the permissions, but the orange sheath is a great help.

Just my approach to trying to reduce instances of walking into the petrol cashier for example, with it still on my belt

my thoughts too, we can all come up with what we think is a reasonable reason for having a knife on us, but then if some keen coppers gets wind, will it hold up in court should it get that far, id not be willing to take that chance, for a situation i dont really need to put myself in, when i had all my pigeon shooting gear in my truck along with my billhook, no matter where i was or the time of day, my excuse would of been i was off to set my hide up ready for an early start the day after,
