Export certificates, has anyone applied for a SIEL?

Hoping to travel to Zim with some friends and a pea shooter or two and I see that with the current trade embargo that obtaining a standard individual export license (SIEL) will be necessary to stay on the correct side of the rules.
Has anyone on here negotiated this path previously and do you have any words of wisdom? At first glance it appears straightforward via the government SPIRE portal but I can’t see if there are any fees associated with getting the export permit. Any idea of timeframe to obtain the SIEL would be useful as well.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve been through the Process through SPIRE a couple of times exporting rifles to Czech Republic three times

All very simple but lengthy with some circular comms within the data submissions for the IEL being granted

The folk at the government hub are usually quick to pick up any questions and there are handy pop up explanations within most of the window spaces that require submissions or simple answers

It’s been a few years since my last one (2017) but as far as I know the process hasn’t altered

Forgot to mention that you can save the application at any time and return back to it (amend, edit , add etc) before final submission

Been in place many years as far as I know

Arms embargo
There is a United Kingdom arms embargo against Zimbabwe. It is an offence in UK law to take firearms into Zimbabwe at the current time, even if you intend to bring them back to the UK at the end of your visit.
