Does anyone know the position / process for taking shotguns that are on ticket to Cyprus but leaving them there and having them taken off ticket this end?

Asking for a friend. Thanks in advance.

Does your friend have Cypriot or TRNC citizenship? I've looked into this and it seemed quite problematic (either side of the boarder), at least if you're a Brit looking to escape the UK and possess firearms or shotguns over there.

In Cyprus your allowed a shotgun, but no Firearm

It’s easy if you have a EFP. But UK shooters no longer have access to such things.

Each EU country has its firearms licencing laws, and most have some form of visiting firearms permit type procedure. These may or may not allow transfer of a firearm to a local.

Www.face.eu is a good starting point.

There will also be the matter of any VAT needing be paid given that the gun will be remaining there, with VAT being based on its current value etc.

I would also have look at some of the specialists who guns all over the place. Somebody like Holts, are moving consignments of guns all over the world on a weekly basis. The cost will be a few hundred quid per case consignment regardless of whether its one or 20 guns.
