Extra Calibre Rifle.......

I am clearly a W$$$%%er then as I have 243,6.5 Creedmoor and 30-06 :-| I think its a perfect mix as do the odd bit of foxing with the 243 and ive got a tidy 80gr load in copper for the daughter when she comes Stalking with me. I use the 6.5 on Muntjac in the Summer and the odd Roe trip to Scotland and the 30-06 on all Fallow.
Don't be a W$$$$$ker and follow the stupid hype that idiots have created around the 6.5 Creed, Its a bloody good calibre, apart from the obligatory ponytail ive had to grow obviously.

Sounds like a good trio that :) - and yep, the 6.5 creed/6.5 swede/6.5x57 are awesome to shoot and will kill most deer very well, so there is a lot to like .-)

i shot 30 something shots with my umoderated 6.5x57 yesterday, and did it in a pretty short time span too, yet i could have shot many more if i needed to, and i cant even feel it on the shoulder now. A 6.5 in that sort of power range is just a very pleasent thing to shoot, if the ergonomics of the rifle is good. .-)

Can of worms just about to be opened.

I have a 30.06 which I shoot most species with and moved to non toxic.

I also have a .243 which I just sold as it was not being used.

Im looking at another calibre, to reduce the pressure of my 30.06 and of course who doesn't want another rifle.

Not going to be Creedmoor W*&nker (LOL) but thinking of maybe 6.5x55.

I shoot Roe upwards and happy to use the 30.06 but want a second calibre, preferably for hind and fallow doe cull and must take non toxic.
6.5 swedish is a lovely light round. Why not go long action .270 is still a cracking round

Have you considered the new Y
T3 Ace Game in 6.5 creed? Looks amazing value.

Did the OP decide on a caliber? I like my Swede and plan to try some copper bullet loads but that’s a hand loaders game for sure.

The two most intriguing newish cartridges to me are 6mm arc and 6mm Creedmoor. I think the arc probably performs better with traditional soft point bullets. The 6CM looks like an awesome round. Like the 243 updated for copper bullets. Not sure about ammo availability.

Why was the 243 not getting used?

Do you want something more or less powerful than the 30.06? Better BC or not fussed?

If you want something more powerful look at a magnum 7mm RM any of the PRCs 300WM?

if equal-ish 308/270

If less powerful any 6.5? Another 243?
