FAC Application West Mids

Morning Folks,

Having followed this forum, and a couple of others over the last 2/3 years, and reading about the problems/negativity people encounter when it comes to dealing with FAC applications/renewals, I was a little hesitant about applying.
However, I decided to take the plunge and apply. So, on July 23rd I sent off my application for .25 air and .223, stating pest control on a permission I have.
I duly received a visit from my FEO on November 27th. He started off with saying that I couldn't have the .223 as the land was not cleared for CF. Apart from that though, he was full of good advice on calibres, ammunition quantities, and how to go about variations in the future etc. He was a thoroughly pleasant and positive fellow and we got on very well.
My FAC dropped through the letterbox on Monday 10th December this week.
So all in all I found the whole process quite straight forward. If others are thinking of applying; then go for it. It's not all gloom and doom. I hope others have the same sought of experience as myself.
Good luck all
RH

Tidy.

I believe WM got more staff/funding. It wasn't this way 12months ago.

Did you get the .223?

(Edit - I see you got a .17 HMR)

I'm with West Mids and have always had a very positive experience. Responsive, open to discussion and fair. Feel like you're having an actual open ended conversation and even when I haven't necessarily got what I wanted I felt like they looked for solutions, came to fair outcomes and gave lots of advice. You can't argue with that.

Same here, I'm with WM and it took around 3 months from application to receiving the certificates. Overall, a good responsive team
